I was wondering if there was anybody who owns Tamrac 5588 Expedition 8x Backpack or the 5578 and if they have travelled on a plane with it.
Is it acceptable as a carry-on luggage, or is it too big.
Whats the largest carry-on camera bag, you have managed to get onto a plane?.
I've got the Expedition 8 on 'planes when I went to, and around, Oz but they weren't happy! On a couple it was weight - one airline tried to make me take cameras, lenses out and put in my pockets. I agreed if they were prepared to pay for any ensuing damage - they left off the attempt! It was just over 2 years ago so it's probably got more difficult!

Your best best is to go online to a given carrier's website and click under
"Baggage Limits" (or equivalent). They will post linear dimension maximums, and weight limits as well. If anyone posting here has been lucky enough to get by with more, you'd be taking an expensive and risky chance trying to do same. Your "carry on" may not pass muster, and you'd be stuck with no alternative.
Happy travels.
