Hi all,
I was wondering whether any of you have had experience with the Tamron 90mm Di MACRO Lens. I have just acquired one for my Nikon D60, but cannot get the autfocus to work. I have done everything it said I had to to on the instructions, but still can not get it to work. It is not the camera as the autofocus worked on all my other lenses. The problem is that the camera will not let me change the focus setting to autofocus. The manual focus does work.
Cheers,
Oscar.

Does the Tamron lens have an autofocus motor built into the lens?
"As with the D40 and D40X, the new D60 doesn't have an built-in focus drive motor which means it can auto focus only with lenses which have their own drive motor (AF-S and AF-I lenses). The lack of a drive motor can be seen by the missing mechanical focus drive pin on the lens mount (see images below). Fortunately it does have an electronic rangefinder to help manual focus on non AF-S / AF-I lenses"

Don't worry, for macro AF is usually best turned off anyway, and for portraits manual focus is fine.
