I'm travelling from the UK to Malaysia in a few weeks and want to take my DSLR camera with me. I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to carry the camera whilst travelling - hand luggage OK?

I always put my camera, a powershot s3, in the hand lugage and thats ok, but of course it takes a lot less space! I wouldnt put it in the main luggage if you can because they dont take care to handle it carefully! if you have to, put lots of clothes around it!
