Hi all.I know this lens will only work wide open on my 350d but as I normally shoot at f7.1 or f8 will I retain the same depth of field.Also will I get the same shutter speeds as I would if I was using my 135-400mm at f7.1?I have a chance of one going cheap cheap cheap.Just wondered if it was worth buying for distant shots.

A couple of words of warning; I had real problems getting any decent results out of one of these on my Nikon D70 - see http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=89082
It could be that there is a specific problem with my copy of the lens (though I used to get good results using film) but I thought I'd highlight this just in case.
Thanks Stuart.I did have a Sigma 400mm f 5.6 which gave me great results on my 300d.
