Sigma 300-800 question

Anyone got this lens on here and could possibily answer this question.

I have just read a review on this lens and it was stated that at 300mm the minimun focus distance was 6 metres.

Surely this is a mistake. At 800mm the focus distance is about 6m so at 300mm it will be much shorter, I hope.

Hi Mick,

No mistake the closest focus is around 18ft!! great for more distant work but a bit of a pain for close up confiding birds etc!!! you could try using Ext tubes which will bring the focus in stilll further! ive not really found it to be much of a prob but saying that ive got the benefit of a Canon 500 for closer up work!!!! Hope this helps a little
