I ordered a Nikon 105mm micro lens from Park Cameras yesterday, after being told it was almost like new, apart from a small scratch on the body. I took great care to ask the assistant to examine the lens. Well, when it arrived, I found a dent in the filter ring, meaning that it could not be used with filters, or my macro flash (the intended use). 
I do wish they would look at the damned thing properly. Shops certainly do when buying used gear from customers.
I expect a full refund with postage both ways since the item was misrepresented. I always though Park were reputable. So let's see what happens.

Park Cameras have always had a decent reputation so it looks like you have been unlucky? I'm sure they will sort it out as they seem quite helpful and usually don't send shoddy items out.
Your right about shops examining cameras etc before buying off you, its amazing how when you are buying off them the camera is the dogs B******s but when you want to part ex it its " Oh Mmmmmmmmm nobody wants them nowadays" even if its only 6 months old?
