$400?

Can anyone recommend a lens that I may be able to get in the $400 dollar range for a Canon Digital Rebel. Im really at a loss. I was looking at mirrors but Im not hearing any good feedback on them. Also has anyone heard of the Phoenix company? The prices are too good to be true so Im wondering if it would even be worth it, Thanks.

I have the Digital Rebel and I like my Vivitar 100-400mm lens for Canon EOS. I don't remember where I got it but it was over the internet for something like $240. The focusing is a bit slow at times, but I really like it.

I have heard of Phoenix but don't know much about it. Phoenix also makes this lens but it is a little cheaper, but not much.

I hope this helps!
Michael

It surely depends what kind of photgraphy appeals to you. I would buy an extra-wide lens for sure (in the range of 20-24mm) along with a zoom of say 100-300mm. Mirror lenses have peculiar characteristics that you might not like - their habit of producing strange specular reflections, for a start.

If possible, too, stick to Canon optics. None are better for the price and their focusing is incredibly smooth, quiet and fast.
